Seon Mclaren

Chief Instructor
Seon McLaren is the Chief Instructor at JKS Glasgow, where he is passionate about making karate accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for all ages and abilities.
While he has competed at both national and international levels – including representing Scotland at the JKS European Championships – Seon is equally committed to creating a welcoming, family-oriented environment at the club.
He plays a key role in mentoring students, supporting junior members, and fostering a strong sense of community. Seon’s dedication to continuous improvement, technical excellence, and inclusive teaching helps make JKS Glasgow a place where everyone can thrive, whether training for competition or personal development.
Alan Pollock
3rd Dan
Assistant Chief Instructor
Alan Pollock is a Assistant Chief Instructor at JKS Glasgow and a long-standing member of the club with a deep-rooted passion for traditional Shotokan karate.
Having started training at a young age, Alan has enjoyed a successful competitive career, including multiple national titles
Since moving into full-time teaching in August 2024, Alan has brought fresh energy and enthusiasm to the club.
His focus is on making karate welcoming and accessible for all – from complete beginners to experienced athletes – while continuing to build the strong, family-friendly atmosphere JKS Glasgow is known for.
Alan’s experience, leadership, and commitment to the values of respect, growth, and community make him a key figure in the club’s continued success.
